We checked in at Mountain Glen RV Resort and set up at Campsite 15. Here, we will stay until the 9th of November before heading south to Florida.
We also saw our “new to us” Suzuki Sidekick and took it for a spin. It’s a 29 year old 4door 4×4 with stick shift and will be used to be towed behind the Motorhome. We changed the struts up front, the shocks in the back already with lots more to do. Front wheel bearing need to be changed (currently at the shop to be done), Speedometer cable is broken (new one at hand, just need to change out), Tachometer worked the first couple of days but decided to stop (research shows that there are some capacitors that start to leak and need to be replaced (Capacitors on hand). Since the Instrument cluster needs to be removed to fix Speedometer and Tachometer, I will also replace the light bulbs since some are not working anymore. Break-away brake system and supplemental brake for towed vehicle also needs to be installed.
At our sons house we are building a shed for the water filter system next to the house. We want to insulate it enough to prevent the filters and pipes from freezing. Hopefully we will finish up this project this week.
Last Thursday I came down with a bug (Flu ?, Cold ?, COVID ?) and was out of commission until today. I passed on the “stuff” to Maria and she is suffering through it now.
Weather wise we picked the right time to be in this area since the colors of the leaves are unbelievable. The red, orange and yellow are popping.
Until next time,
Maria & Bernhard
