03/04/2024 – On Saturday we packed up and left Tennessee. It feels good to be on the move again. Our first stop was Tuscaloosa in Alabama where we spent the night at Cracker Barrel. Sleep was quiet even though we were next to the interstate. Not many things are better than rolling out of bed in the morning, walk 50 yards and get breakfast served. After breakfast we headed out towards Meridian, Mississippi where we filled up our onboard propane tank and spent the night at Cracker Barrel in Hattiesburg, MS. Traffic was a little more noisy, but we both had a restful night. After breakfast we drove to Hammond in Louisiana to get our Home washed at a Blue Beacon. They did a pretty good job for a very reasonable price. Now, we have set up at Fountain Bleu State Park in Mandeville where we currently have a pretty strong thunderstorm with lots of rain (see, it works all the time – wash the vehicle and it will rain). Hopefully there is no flooding since everything is flat and a swampy area to start with. Tomorrow, weather permitting, we will drive on a 22 mile long bridge across Lake Pontchartrain into New Orleans and so some exploring. Should be fun!!!!
