On our way back to our home base near Chattanooga we first had a 3 night stop at Arrowhead Lake Campground in Johnston City, IL. What a nice City Campground. We had a nice spot at the Lake. In the mornings we had the Sun rise over the lake and in the evening it set over a meadow. A 2 1/4 mile hiking path around the lake made for some exercise in the mornings. Other than the walks we did nothing but “Rest and Relax”. The second stop was another 3 Nighter. This Campground was near Ashland City, TN and at the banks of the Cumberland River. Thursday it was raining most of the time, so we hung around Schnitzel catching up in reading and crafting. Friday it cleared up and we had a nice bike ride to the lock. Unfortunately no barge traffic at that time. On our way back to our campsite a Tugboat pushing 12 barges (3 wide 4 long) down river towards the lock, however, we did not turn around to watch them go through the lock. Saturday morning we packed up and drove the remaining 150 miles to our home, Mountain Glen RV Park, for the next 4 weeks.
Until next time,
Maria and Bernhard
